This project in collaboration with UK Biobank will derive well-validated variables on the picture vocabulary cognitive test that is administered during imaging clinic. A problem identified with the test is that the sampling algorithm used to increase the challenge of the task in accordance with the performance of participants does not correctly capture the complexity of the words, resulting in ability scores that are not representative of the ability of the participants. The aim of this work is to recalibrate the ability scores obtained in the picture vocabulary test. To do this, a mathematical model of words complexity, participants' performance and participants' ability will be established. This will lead to well-validated variables for uploading to showcase.1 Publication
