About
Cardiovascular drugs, such as aspirin and statins, are effective in preventing and treating cardiovascular disease (e.g. heart attacks and stroke). However, their potential effect on other chronic diseases (e.g. cancer, osteoporosis, respiratory diseases, dementia, and Alzheimer's disease) remains unclear. The aim of this project is to investigate the effect of cardiovascular drugs on complex chronic diseases. We will use data from the full UK Biobank cohort. And innovative statistical methods, such as matching method and negative control method, will be used to increase the credibility of results. This study is expected to last for 36 months. The findings will provide evidence-based guidance for healthy cardiovascular drug use.2 Publications
