About
Samples sent for whole genome sequencing (WGS) have been sent under two different applications: one used for the first 50,000 samples, and the second used for the remaining 450,000 UK Biobank participants. This means that cross-referencing of both projects is required to identify samples. Combining the sample identifiers from both projects, to produce a single ID for each individual in UK Biobank, makes it easier for UK Biobank, for researchers, and for the research platform to process all the data correctly.
