Abstract
We conducted a Genome wide association study of a suicidality scale. Usually suicidality and self-harm are treated as separate phenotypes but by combining them into a single scale we uncovered genes that associated with our scale. We validated our results by using Polygenic risk scoring ( a method that allows us to calculate an individual s genetic loading for a trait and found that the loading for suicidality was higher in those who had committed suicide than our control group which was people who have never had any suicidal thoughts or thoughts of self-harm.
