APOE e4 genotype is a common risk factor for Alzheimer's disease and accelerated cognitive ageing. However we know little about its associations with blood biomarkers like low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, in non-demented people. Here, we showed in n=400k people, that there are associations between risk e4 genotype and protective e2 genotypes in terms of lipid, neuroinflammation and to a lesser extent other circulating blood biomarker levels. These could suggest future biomarkers of interest for dementia, although further study is required.
