About
Cardiorenal-metabolic syndrome is a recently proposed concept by the American College of Cardiology, representing a systemic comorbidity framework. Under this framework, the syndrome is divided into five stages (Stage 0 to Stage 4), with increasing severity, considering renal function, metabolic health, and cardiovascular diseases in relation to public health. Previous studies have separately indicated that renal function, cardiac function, and metabolic syndrome affect cognitive function, brain phenotype age, brain structure, and cerebrovascular disease incidence. However, these studies primarily focus on the impact of individual organ dysfunctions on brain function, neglecting the interactive effects of systemic comorbidities. Therefore, this study aims to explore the effects of cardiorenal-metabolic syndrome on brain function, aiming to elucidate the interactions between the cardiorenal-metabolic axis and brain function. The significance of this study is to broaden the understanding of the impact of cardiorenal-metabolic syndrome on overall health. It will reveal the effects of interactions between organ functions-cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic disorders-on various body organs and propose effective strategies for the prevention of cardiorenal-metabolic syndrome.1 Publication
