Aims: This research endeavor aims to dissect the complex interplay among genetic predispositions, lifestyle variables, and environmental exposures in the context of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease. The objective extends to understanding the consequential impact of these factors on overall cerebral health. Through the identification of specific genetic markers and the elucidation of lifestyle and environmental influences, we aspire to unveil avenues for early detection, and potentially the prevention or deceleration of disease progression. Scientific Rationale: Neurodegenerative diseases epitomize a spectrum of disorders characterized by a progressive degeneration of neural structures and functions, imposing a substantial burden on affected individuals, families, and the global healthcare infrastructure. The precise etiological constituents and the mechanistic trajectory of these disorders remain largely ambiguous. Emerging evidence posits a conjecture that lifestyle determinants, environmental milieu, and genetic underpinnings are intertwined in orchestrating the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative ailments. This research is predicated on the hypothesis that a meticulous exploration of these elements will engender pivotal insights into the prophylaxis, early detection, and management of neurodegenerative diseases, thereby fostering an enhanced cerebral health paradigm. Project Duration: The projected temporal framework for this research spans one to three years, within which extensive data analytics, novel biological and neuroimaging marker identification, and evaluative scrutiny of the findings are to be conducted to glean meaningful insights. Public Health Impact: The envisaged public health impact of this research is robust. By augmenting the understanding of neurodegenerative diseases, this investigative venture could catalyze the formulation of efficacious strategies for early detection, which is paramount for judicious management and potential amelioration of disease trajectory. Additionally, the elucidation of modifiable risk factors would empower individuals with the requisite knowledge to effectuate lifestyle modifications, potentially forestalling or delaying disease onset.
